Exploring Oaxaca (Part 3)

By Simon J. Lau

Had breakfast and ordered this bagel 🥯, guacamole 🥑, and egg 🍳 sandwich. Much better than the avocado toast we have in San Francisco, mainly because they are more generous with the avocado. 🥑🥑🥑

After breakfast, I entertained myself while Jean worked from home. I visited several local markets before spending the afternoon drinking and eating nachos by the park. Nothing to complain about here!

Later, Jean joined me to visit a church and several public squares in the area. My favorite was this chapel where I spent time admiring sculptures and paintings of Jesus.

Before leaving for this trip, I discovered one of my former coworkers would be in Oaxaca at the same time as us! We made sure to meet up. He was here to visit his mom, who planned to stay for 6 weeks. She was such an interesting lady. She had visited Oaxaca in the 70s and loved it so much that she came back to see it again in retirement. For dinner, we ate at Yu Ne Nisa, a chef’s choice restaurant. It’s our favorite place so far!

Finally, to top off the night right, we continued our mezcal journey 🍹. According to the bar, “mezcal is cheaper than therapy.”
