Baja Bound 2023 (Part 19)

By Simon J. Lau

Today, I made it into Ensenada! I thought this was my first time here, but my mom pointed out that we’ve been here twice before. 😅 Both times, I was very young: Once from a cruise ship and another by bus (from San Diego).

I was a bit anxious about traffic (since I’m still a relatively new motorcyclist), so I got going a little after sunrise at 6 AM. The drive in was surprisingly easy and very nice. A lot of rolling hills and light fog occasionally made for a very dramatic background.

For lunch, I had some amazing oysters (and a really good taco)! 🦪 I liked this place so much that there’s a good chance that I’ll visit again. So far this trip, I haven’t eaten at the same place twice, but this place may be worthing break from that trend.

Also, meet Bruno (first photo). He not only shares the same name as one of my dogs (second photo), but Ensenada Bruno is also a similar breed! That, however, is where the similarities end. Ensenada Bruno’s owner said he’s also a great guard dog. If only the same could be said of my Bruno!

Finally, this is where Wilbur will sleep tonight. I was a good neighbor and took the worst spot in the parking lot. This space is too small for a car of any kind but large enough for a motorcycle. Stay safe, Wilbur!
