I visited Ciqikou, an ancient town that was once known for its thriving porcelain production. There’s very little, if any, porcelain manufactured here now. Instead, these storefronts have been mostly converted into small shops and restaurants.
In the evening, I had my first taste of authentic Chongqing hotpot. I went with a friend’s cousin, who previously studied abroad. We spent much of our time discussing Chinese politics. He was surprisingly very candid with me, and he left me with a lot to consider.
As a nightcap, I went back to Mr. Tipsy. It was much more lively this time than last time, and I spent much of my time chatting with the bartenders and other patrons. Unfortunately, Mr. Tipsy is closing its doors forever soon. I guess I’ll have to make one final visit before I leave.
